{Birthday Week 2016} Revisited

These are some photos that I initially didn’t think would make a good blog post, maybe because they’re even more “personal” than my usual posts. I did post a few on Flickr, but after letting them sit since last year, I have now decided to share them.

My sister, my sister-in-law, and I have birthdays that fall within the same seven day period. I  have been trying to be intentional about shooting film during specific times such as our birthday week, so I loaded my Fujica ST605N and kept it with me throughout the week.

Before going to the tattoo shop for my mom, we stopped at Pei Wei and I had a tofu, veggies, and rice bowl at Pei Wei

Union Jack sneakers my sister also got me for my birthday

On my sister-in-law’s birthday, my mom took my brother this hat and made me photograph him in it (like he was a mountain man 🙂 )

The most of the Instax mini photos that week went onto my daily photo project blog, but I’ll share them here too:

We ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant for my sister’s birthday. There was still a Christmas wreath over the door, even though it was August!

Oh and fe bonus photos taken with a different camera, my Ricoh FF-1 😀 :

{One More Time}

Back in the fall, the time came for me to return Susan’s Bronica S to her. I felt very bad that I hadn’t used it more frequently during the time that I had it! So, being a cheeky individual, I decided to shoot one more roll of film through the camera before taking it back up to Memphis to its rightful home. These were taken over the course of a little over twenty-four hours. I love the lens on this Bronica, and I especially love that it focuses very close, so I tend to take full advantage of that!

Thanks again, Susan, for giving me the opportunity to use such a beautiful piece of photo gear!

{Summer Past}

Between the amount of my photographic time devoted to Amanda’s Daily Photography in 2016 and all the film from Amanda Goes to England, I had a little backlog of 2016 film that I didn’t get developed until 2017. This roll from my Lomography Diana+ was one that got put on the back burner. When I got the film developed, I felt the photos practically screamed “SUMMER!” Which is appropriate since that’s when they were taken 🙂

Pinhole photo – the camera got moved accidentally midway through the exposure, which is why it looks as if it’s a double exposure

I feel like this must’ve been a pinhole shot – this camera doesn’t focus closely otherwise
