{Mini Family Session} Shields Family

While I was photographing Julie and Mark’s rehearsal dinner, I also managed to get in a few shots of the Shields family. I have photographed Lisa, Rob, and their children several times over the years, so I wanted to get a few photos of their latest addition, Julian. I was especially pleased to do this, because I’d taken photos of Julian’s older brothers Ezra and Lionel when they were babies too.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY: THE JOBE-SHIELDS FAMILY, Christmas 2013

I’d like to welcome the Jobe-Shields family  back to the Shoot With Personality blog!

(Well, I sort of already did when I posted the instant photos from this photo session…)

A few years ago, I had multiple photo sessions with Lisa, Rob, and baby Ezra. They moved to North Carolina after that, and I had not had the opportunity to see them since their move. The last photo session I did with them was one with Lisa’s mom and siblings for Christmas 2010, when Ezra was about 7 months old.

Look at Ezra in 2010 – OH MY GOOOODNESSS

Fast-forward to 2013, and little Ezra is a rambunctious 3 1/2 old with a wildly awesome  awesomely wild head of hair.  Oh, and one more thing has changed since 2010: Rob and Lisa have a new addition to their little family: baby Lionel was born in August.  And, lucky for me, I was called in to do a photo shoot with Lionel when he and his family were in Memphis for Christmas!

Meet Lionel!

Big brother and baby brother. So sweet!

I remembered from our 2010 photo shoot that the girls like to take silly in photos, so I let ’em go for it

Their reward for making it through so many photos: chocolate fudge!

Naomi’s justifiably happy to have her reward

I just COULD. NOT. STOP. with these pictures of Mimi and Lionel!

Oh, what’s that little hand on the back of the chaise lounge?

SOMEONE was being mischievous and making his way into the photos of his Mimi and his brother!

Ezra got a little photo time with Mimi too

Someone’s up to mischief again…

Ezra looks like he’s boogieing

I’m so glad I (and my camera!) had the chance to see this awesome family again. Lionel was sooooooo sweet, and I couldn’t believe how big Ezra, Naomi, and Fay had gotten since I’d last seen them!

{Instant} Family Photography: The Jobe-Shields Family, Christmas 2013

Well this was a treat!

I’ll share more from my baby session/family portrait session with the Jobe-Shields family soon, but here are some of the instant photos I took during my time with that family this week. What’s cool was, Lisa specifically requested Polaroids after seeing the ones I did during my session with the Jacksons last month. I’ve been loving the fact that I’ve had the opportunity to photograph people with an appreciation for instant film photography! For these, I was able to bring along my Polaroid SLR 680 SE and some of Impossible Project’s newest black and white and color films – actually, the color film is their special “silver frame” edition. I thought it appropriate for Christmas-y photos!

Ezra told me that this was the face he was going to make in all our pictures that day. It wasn’t 🙂

{First Birthday} Eli!!!

Sweet baby Eli!

Eli is the son of my friends Annie and Jeremy. I did some maternity photos of Annie before Eli first graced this world with his presence, but I had only gotten to see the baby in passing before  the day of his birthday party. Boy, had I been missing out! I immediately cottoned to this little one. I always enjoy a baby who’ll let me tote ’em around 🙂

The house was decked OUT in all things Disney and Mickey Mouse! Including Eli himself!

Eli and his buddy Ethan

Couldn’t resist a couple of extra pictures of  Ethan, too!

There were plenty of friends and family on hand for Eli to visit with during his party

Time for the smash cake!

Eli really wasn’t too on board with this whole “smush cake around with your hands and shove it in your mouth” scenario…

They brought in Ethan to see if he could help pique Eli’s interest in the cake.

Spoiler: It didn’t really work 🙂 So it was time for presents!

It’s little wonder than Eli was so tuckered out that he ended the party asleep in his grandmother’s arms…
